Driving Silicon to Limit: mm-Wave Solution with FinFET Technology

As Moore’s law scaling led the industry to adopt the FinFET architecture which was primarily targeted for logic operations, questions still arise about the suitability of FinFETs for RF/mm-wave applications from the design community at large. The latest effort on FinFET technology improvement targeting RF and mm-wave design will be demonstrated. Figures of Merit will be presented and contrasted with respect to Bulk CMOS technology. Furthermore, RF/mm-wave circuit design guidance along with design examples exploiting the full benefit of FinFET technologies will be showcased.
