mm-Wave Radar Circuit Design Techniques in FDSOI CMOS Technology

In this workshop we will introduce 22nm FDSOI CMOS technology and its application to mm-wave wave circuits and particularly for radar application. We will cover advantages of FDSOI for mm-wave circuits and mainly for E-band. Overview of the radar architecture suitable for low-power FDSOI will also be covered. Also, we will show the details of receiver, transmitter and FMCW frequency synthesizer. mm-Wave circuit design including low-noise amplifier/mixer, power amplifier, DCO, etc. are part of this presentation. In this material we will present the measurement results of a radar transceiver designed in 22nm FDSOI covering a frequency range of 76 to 81GHz. We will also discuss the system related aspects for radar building blocks.
