Characterization of Electromagnetic Coupling Effects in MIMO Antenna Array Beamforming

The main goal of this work is to characterize the coupling effects that occur in MIMO antenna arrays, when the antenna beam is steered along a specific direction. A calibrated measurement system designed to measure such effects, is proposed. Experimental results have been obtained for several beam directions, showing the impact of the beam steering on each MIMO antenna element.
