Human Motion Analysis Based on Multi-Channel Doppler Radar System

This paper presents the design of a 2.45-GHz, CW Doppler radar system capable with space division, aiming for human motion analysis. The multi-channel receiver based on array beamforming is proposed to distinguish the motions from individual body parts. The 2-D beamformer composed by stacked Butler matrices can receive signals from 16 spatial directions. The experiment with on-spot walking gait is demonstrated to validate the system functionality.
