Comprehensive Nonlinear Characterization and Modeling of a BAW Duplexer

This paper performs a comprehensive nonlinear modeling of a Bulk Acoustic Wave (BAW) duplexer operating at the band 7 of the LTE wireless communication standard. The modeling starts by an accurate characterization of the resonators forming the filters by performing measurements of the second harmonic (H2). The modeling of individual resonators has then been used to predict second order nonlinear manifestations occurring in a real duplexer. These are H2, second order intermodulation products (IMD2), for the case where a jamming signal is set to low frequencies (IMD2-Low) and when the jamming signal is set to high frequencies (IMD2-High). Predicted results are then validated with real measurements.
