Duplexing and Co-existence in Emerging RF Wireless Systems

The power amplifier has historically been and will continue to be an extremely popular area of research. While much of the research has focused on improving output power and efficiency, there has been significantly less work on the impact of transmitters on other systems - on receivers that operate at the same time either at different (FDD) or at the same frequency (FD), or on neighboring receivers that operate on the same platform. This presentation will examine recent results at Columbia University on topics such as out-of-band noise mitigation in digital transmitters, transmitter self-interference cancellation for FDD and FD, and integrated non-magnetic circulators that can handle high transmitter power.
