Characterization of Low Cost Organic Substrate for mm-Wave AiP Application
In order to have high-cost performance ratio and high scalability, it is important to characterize commonly used organic substrate for mm-wave application such as antenna in package of a 5G transceiver IC. This paper describes a way to obtain the Dk, Df, and surface conductivity of an organic substrate, and then proceed to find the propagation constant and attenuation constant of various transmission structure for the AiP designer. Finally, a various multi-layer substrate is used to demonstrate the design procedure to deliver such an AiP for 5G application.
