This talk will discuss two types of broadband efficient GaN PAs for simultaneous variable signal amplification. A single-stage octave band (2–4GHz) PA is characterized with 10MHz signals of variable spacing up to 800MHz and DPD applied for linearization while maintaining high efficiency. A second 2–4GHz load-modulated balanced PA has an active match across the band to maintain efficiency for multiple signals. Both PAs are characterized in addition under supply modulation and a detailed discussion of the tradeoff between linearity and overall efficiency will be presented.
